I watched Hackers again. The last time I saw it was shortly after it came out on video. Back then I knew nothing about computers or hacking. This time I watched with Andrea and the eminent geek, Miks. It turned out to be amusingly dated technology-wise but for the most part not too bad.
The screenshots of the computers running hacking programs were rather unrealistic but the viewing public needs to see more than just a boring screen full of text.
It's amazing what can change a few short years. Now, I actually could do a lot of what they were doing in the movie. Well, I could do it in theory anyway. Back then, I had no idea how to use a computer except for the pharmacy software I used. Now, I could probably write the pharmacy software. Again, in theory and I would need several months to do it.
I'm not l33t but I'm working on it.
